Hi Steve,
Yes it will stay in place, it sits on the 'shelf' either side and clamps down onto the hoop that the seat is attached too, very easy to fit and allows seats to be raised/lowered without removing it.
I used it solely to prevent luggage coming forward, trips away we just fill the boot floor to ceiling.

It will fold flat for transporting so I will look into costs for you Thumbs Up
