I had to take a quick photo of this today. We live on a fairly busy main road and whilst walking the dog tonight, I noticed a van had crashed into someone's fence further up the road. God knows how he managed it as he is parallel to the fence.

One of 2 theories I had was that he overtook someone but then had to swerve to avoid a car or other hazard he hadn't noticed at first. Or he was driving along the pavement for some reason and somehow lost control.

Or some kind of medical emergency leaving the driver unable to control the vehicle?

No emergency services attended and the driver was sat at the wheel on his mobile phone, perhaps arranging a towing vehicle. The home owners had gone back inside so the initial shenanigans was over by the time I had gone by.
