The General AT2 was never available in a 17" size to suit F2 but as most will know the General AT is available in 235/65x17 which is proving to be a great tyre all round as others have stated.

On 16" rims General AT2 was available in 235/70x16 and 225/75x16 which a few customers have gone down that route but the 235/70x16 AT2 is no longer available, this has moved aside in favor of the new AT. The 225/75x16 AT2 is however still available from stock.

The General AT is by far the most popular All Terrain tyre we sell with very many happy customers, we stock all sizes, 16",17",18",19" and 20" in AT.

I do have four 235/65x17 Pirelli ATR available at £480.00 plus vat fitted. Andy.

Al, if you mean my AT/SA's then no! Less road noise even than my standard Scorpions, surprised me actually as to just how quiet these tyres are. Maybe there is some truth in their sales talk about the Kevlar inserts keeping down road noise as well as offering extra puncture and sidewall protection. As I've mentioned previously, if they made these to fit the standard 18" HSE rims they would be my tyre of choice.

I had the grabbers in 18", looked great, were cr@p in the wet on tarmac. I removed them and put back on my conti's with 3mm. much better. now on goodyear winter tyres.

No there or not legal

Wrong, they are legal in this country, albeit completely pointless except in certain extreme weather circumstances.

Many people believe that a clause in the Construction and Use regulations below means that studded tyres are outlawed.

They refer to the damage to the roads bit.

Most modern studded tyres are designed to run for a significant proportion of their life, sometimes up to 80%, on clear cold tarmac. There is almost no damage to the roads. True the passage of many tens of thousands of vehicles gradually wears the roads in a similar manner to the lorry ruts one sees on the motorway. I don't see lorries being prosecuted for damage to the road and neither would anyone with studded tyres.

Of course one wouldn't use the skinny porcupines sometimes used on rally stages but they wouldn't last any time at all.
