MP3's on DVD?

Does anyone know if the 6 CD changer which can play MP3's from CD can also play them from a DVD? The unit should accept DVDs as the Sat Nav updates are delivered this way.

You can play MP3 files burned to a DVD on the system in the RRSport, so don't see why the F2 shouldn't be able to do the same as it's an Alpine system as well.

Have you taken a cd/DVD with MP3/4 files along to your dealer and tried to play? How can carbon have a footprint, it has no feet?

Tried a DVD in the CD player - doesn't work. The DVD for the SAT Nav is a different drawer under the drivers seat

The DVD drive is always under the Right hand seat therefore is under the drivers seat in the RHD models and under the passenger seat in all LHD models. This DVD drive is only for the sat nav.

there is even a notation in the owners manual stating that it is not a good idea to insert a DVD as it may load OK but may get stuck and damage the player...

This is probably why the person that I know who used to play DVDs with MP3 files no longer does it! Don't think he suffered any untoward problems but will find out. How can carbon have a footprint, it has no feet?

How about WMA files?

It's cool that MP3s seem to work, how about WMA files? This would mean that I could get twice the amount of tunes on a disk. Anyone tried this? Rolling Eyes

Track / Artist

Hi Andy, The FL2 displays the folder name as you are scrolling, and then the track name when playing (assuming you turn 'cd text' on in the settings).

If your interested, the FL2 also plays Windows Media Audio (WMA files), so you can get about 30% more songs on a CD! Thumbs Up

Have fun in April !
