Just found out the price for the sliding cover from my dealer (Guy Salmon in Wakefield). Unit is £58.75 inc VAT Bit pricey for a piece of plastic Sad

We are talking about the square hole at the back here right?

Give it a few months and they will start popping up on ebay.

As for myself....I need to have one now.

Or maybe I go and buy some binos... Very Happy '57 GS TD4 in Stornoway. Privacy, Leather, Tred Cills. From ebay etc.. 18" 12 spoke HSE alloys, rear spoiler, clear side repeaters with clear leds, led interior light to replace bulbs, sports exhaust trim, TomTom 720.

Do the binoculars fit over your huge nose?

Id pay £20 for the cover so as to hide any valuables. but then you get into the whole "leave everything open so people don't break in to see is there is anything in the cubby" debate At work

i wanted one, but i use the hole to store the rayban's and polo mints

I think the sliding cover my get in the way, it also somewhere else to forget to remove something from, at least without the cover they can only see polo mints and rayban's

I think the FL2 does miss the sunglass holder Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

I ordered mine on Thursday and received it from my local LR dealer on Tuesday.

It's definitely not worth £58.75, but as long as fools like me part with their cash... It's the only thing on the market at the moment and I want something to secure and hide my iPod and it's cheaper than the iPod bracket.

However, the box has a long plastic spike sticking out underneath. It appears as if it should insert and lock into a reciprocal hole, but that isn't so, and a hack saw had to be employed to remove the spike, otherwise the box doesn't fit.

There are two holes in the bottom of the box, which, perhaps, could be used to bolt the box down. I'll investigate further if I can be bothered.

Highlandcow.

The spike stays on...sounds like you forgot to remove the rubber mat in the bottom of the tray before inserting.. ?

Doh??

No loss - it doesnt really do much of anything... I think.

I almost did the same but Nick from Yeovil LR warned me about it.

Incidently - as he is such a helpful chap Im happy to say it again.. He has these in stock and will give you a discount and next day delivery! '57 GS TD4 in Stornoway. Privacy, Leather, Tred Cills. Nope, I removed the rubber mat. There's an off-centre hole, but it doesn't correspond with the spike.

Just a minor update...

I tried to order a LR006924 but my local Parts Department said it had been superseded by LR010141. It looks exactly the same and I was quoted £52.23 instead of £55.79 for LR006924!

Glad I got one as I think it makes our GS Centre Console look a little more upmarket.
