2011 Freelander 2 TD4 S Manual Lago Grey
High level brake light lens

Noticed quite a bit of green gunge inside the bottom edge of the high level brake light lens. Probably moss/mould indicating moisture. Is it a difficult job to remove it to clean out/reseal without removing any trim or doing damage?

Pull off the trim in the centre of the top of the tailgate. To remove the lens depress the lugs on each side of the lens from the inside of the tailgate. To improve the seal (there are posts referring to water entering the tailgate via the brakelight) I put a piece of tape where the lugs clip to the tailgate. Fitting is the reverse of removal.

............2nd annual service today, replacing unit under warranty, seems to be very common. Worth having a close look at yours as it seems to develop gradually. Thanks for all your input.
