Easier battery charging - what connectors?

I was looking at getting a CTEK charger plus the extra bits to have a connector at the front grill for easier charging.

However I do have a perfectly functional Halfords charger and was wondering what connectors I can use and where I can buy them. If I can plug in through the grill it would make life so much more convenient.

Thanks
Simon

i have a CTEK charger and it came with a quick connector, that you bolt to the battery terminals, unplug the croc clips and just plug it in, East Yorkshire Dave has same charger as me and he uses a cigar lighter in the boot

Maybe you could make an adapter for yours, cut off the croc clips, put male/female adapter plugs on and make up a system

I'm not putting you off doing it your way, but you can also charge directly into the boot cigarette type socket, close the boot and lock up. That socket has direct wiring to the battery and you just need an accessory plug.

Also ensure your 'Halfords' charger is like a CTEK and can be charged without disconnecting the battery because of the electronics and the damage 'spiking' can do.

EDIT: Beaten by Nick, I'm a slow typer of words Laughing

If it's a halfords charger you could try e-mailing them for accessories.

Or may be worth seeing if the CTEK connectors are identical and seeing if they'll supply direct? Mine: 2012 Golf GTI Edition 35

Thanks for the replies so far.

I have towing electrics. The halfords charger was a present a few years ago and was quite expensive at the time. I've used it several times but with winter under way and just doing short journeys by battery is getting hammered and I need to give it a charge every now and then.

I've had a look at the halfords website. They do sell CTEK connectors and I could get those and connect to my existing charger.

Just really looking at the options at the moment.

Martin probably asked about towing electrics because it's another option.
You could connect your charger positive to a spare towing plug, 'pin4' of a 12S plug or 'pin 9' of a newer 13 pin plug, of course also with a negative wire.
