Trailer lights don't work. Does it need programming?

Bloody sturgess can't fit anything right.

Does anyone know if you need programming for the trailer lights to work.
I have tested 2 light bars, and none work.
Me thinks sturgess monkeys forgot...

All my trailer lights worked without the need for any programming.

United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Auto Rimini Red

I fitted my own LR electrics and nothing worked so I had to get it programmed by a dealer. I think they usually charge about £50, although they did mine for free as it was in for a recall on the auto box. It seems pretty random whether programming is needed as others have plugged in and most functions work.

How is the new car shaping up? No more keying , I hope. - 2007(57) XS Auto, Rimini Red, Alpaca Leather.

Luxembourg 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Izmir Blue

I did install the electrics myself. Everything worked as it should except for the rear sensors.
I used different trailers. About one year later on one trailer the lights worked, on one only one side and one trailer no lights led up.
When I bought a new trailer this year, none of the lights worked.
My LR dealer told me the electrics were damaged I had to install the original LR kit for 300 Euros!!! As much as the removable tow bar and electrics did cost!

Thanks all for your experiences, seems it could go either way with mine.

I have lr assistance on way to have a look at this and the misfire / cough on acceleration.
Supposed to be going camping Monday and need the trailer to work.

Don't think could get it programmed by then, as we are committed to the holiday and are meeting friends
Down there, will possibly end up hiring a car Sad
