Horn not working

Looking for the horn?
If the brakes want attention – easy, big metal disk behind the wheel.
Wipers – look for the linkage/ motor attached to the wiper
Alternator – driven by belt at the front of the engine.

Looking for a none functioning horn, you will be at it a long time.
Remove the headlights,
Remove the right hand wheel,
Remove the panel behind the RH wheel – 2 nuts and 2 screws.
Remove the 6mm bolt through the wing liner,
Lift the wing liner and remove the 6mm bolt hiding in a recess just above where the last bolt came from,
Repeat for LH side,
Remove the plastic trim under the bumper – 2 x ¼ turn catches.
Remove the 2 x 6mm screws underneath the cover,
Remove the (very heavy) sump guard if fitted,
Remove the four 6mm screws on top of the “bumper cover”,
Pull off the bumper cover, disconnect the headlamp washers and fog lights,
Pull off the trim around the front of the radiator,
Hidden inside the steel front bumper are two horns,

Fill them with mud and they will die. Censored
Rebuild the car,
Order new ones from LR.
Start again.

Guess what I am doing again next weekend? Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her

Covered by the Extended Warranty though. Thumbs Up
You have two horns - did they both die? If both went together I'd want to check the circuits first.

Plugged in Hawkeye - this confirmed relay pulling in - so steering wheel clockspring etc. all OK
Checked fuse, beautiful assistant (wife) checked relay physically operating.

Then downloaded circuit diagram from this site - open circuit between relay output and ground, so horns, wiring or earth fault.
Spend 2 hours Evil or Very Mad looking for horns - eventually paid TOPix £5 for an hours subscription to find they were hidden behind bumper.
Dug out the horns, emptied mud/sand (from Driffield ?) out of both, adjusted so they make a sound - not a nice sound but better than nothing.

Do it all again next weekend, because they won't last now they are rusted inside - 20 years playing at Forklifts has taught me that lesson. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her
