England 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Zermatt Silver
Ignition, indicators etc without the engine running

Hi
I am trying to work out exactly how the 'start stop' button works.
Should I want to test my indicators without starting the engine I can't, I have tried putting my foot on the brake and pressing the button and the sat nav comes on but nothing else, although saying that - the dash and warning lights did come on once when I tried it but not since so maybe I did something slightly differently that time Rolling Eyes

Can someone explain how this works?

Thanks

The ignition should come on if you press the start button for 2 seconds without touching any pedals. John

just tried that and YES - ta Bow down
Seems that if you press the brake pedal then just the sat nav comes on.

Pressing the brake pedal in a manual has no impact on the stop/start button.

To switch on the SatNav only - press the button briefly.
To switch on all the electrics - press the button until the dashboard lights come on
To start the engine - depress the clutch and press the button.

In an auto the same applies until you want to start when you then need to press the brake pedal and stop/start button.

If you have recently bought your Freelander from a LR Dealer and didn't receive a complimentary 1/2 day experience voucher go back and ask for one. It is well worth having and will hopefully give you a better understanding of your Freelander and what all the buttons do.
