boot light conversion

would this be safe
the boot light is a 5w lamp which is a waste of time at night.would it be safe to convert to a domestic house type 3 watt led lamp.ive used these in my house and they are very bright at night.
would be easy to cut a round hole in the trim and fit the lamp, nice neat job.
dont want to burn out any wiring looms

Get some of the led flexi strips you can buy, I have one in mine on a separate switch and it's much better
