Laughing don't even get me started on pre-delivery inspection procedures at customer premises.......... I don't know how I ended up in this industry but after a recent trip to a audit a prospective sovents tank farm in Poland i wished I'd run away and joined a circus...... then seeing all the clowns in action I thought perhaps i had ! The highlight was a small room where they filled 5 litre cans with " Nitro Fuel" for model cars etc, the boss proudly explained he had fitted an antistatic floor and issued earthing shoes to his employees:............who of course were standing on cardboard to keep the floor clean Rolling with laughter 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership

years and years ago when "blueprints" were normal, eons before plotters were introduced, 880 ammonia was used for developing dyeline printing, the Censored in the drawing office (of a certain vehicle radiator manufacturer in Leeds) used to clear their noses by sniffing the residual ammonia collected in a catch bottle which was much much weaker, one of their favourite tricks was to do this in front of guillable young trainees ( yes me Embarassed ) then invite them to do the same but using the neat 880 on the " feed" side ! Oh how they would laugh as you fell to the floor with all you mucous membranes burning and your eyes steaming and bloodshot, it made being sent to the engineering stores for a " Long Stand" or being left 5 metres in the air on the business end of a forklift over lunchtime seem almost harmless. It's a bloody good job some things have changed at work over the years 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership

Know what you mean. I vaguely remember having to clean out the glass tube on one of those machines because I was the youngest. It’s funny because the Friday night guys were talking about all the pranks that would happen in the “old days” in work that are not allowed now but were character building and were good for team building. Now everything is politically correct and they have to send people away for team building. Happy days Thumbs Up

Team building Rolling Eyes

Wear this fluorescent jacket and don't run on the grass...it's slippery.

I was caught out with a £40,000 control panel at Dounreay, The bas Censored ds had wired a theatrical thunder flash and smoke bomb in the workings, the armed guard over my shoulder nearly shat himself and was not impressed. I ended up swapping perfectly good thyristors around to make it look like I had cocked up to cover for them.

Thyristors, now we’re talking. We had I guy who would always take a leak at the side of the brew cabin instead of going to the nearest loo. He never did it again after we rigged up a connection to a Megger Rolling with laughter
