Cutting the roof liner and retro fit extra lights

I am considering fitting 2 extra lights back, so need to cut the roof liner.

Has anyone done this, any advise appreciated.

More light in back?

What are you planning to do back there that needs the interior lit up like an operating theatre?

Just curious ..........

Not sure if the roof linimg material is bonded to the hard cover, if it is then cutting will be fine.
If not, then dont cut a large hole in the roof lining outer layer, make a slit that looks like this >---< this way you can glue down the tabs as you fold them over inside the hole for the light, this will stop any ripples appearing in the roof lining.

Go for it, good luck Thumbs Up

I fitted led strip light to the back of mine. It's very flat to, wired into a switch in the boot to light up when looking for crap in the boot. There is a pic on here somewhere

That does look bright.

How does it look when switched off.
Still considering adding 'factory fit look" lights 1 for each rear passenger similar to my old merc
