Can anyone recomend a place to get the 2nd year Service in Kent preferably at a sensible price? I have had 3 quotes so far Barretts Of Canterbury @ £530, Barretts Of Ashford @ £450. Harwoods Of Tonbridge @ £637

All of these IMO are too expensive for what I've been told they do & a lot of that is checking things & I am always wary of the checking bit for obvious reasons. (Past) Freelander 2 HSE 2010 MY In Rimini Red.

have you tried the age old quote.

"Wow!!! you're not at all competitive on pricing"

Then just wait for their reply - don't say anything else until they respond

But check out halfords auto centre. Fantastic price, and if you compare all items against what lr do, it is the same.
Under £200.


Worth considering in these austere times perhaps.

TV - Look at RCV (£337 second service) and then quote the price back to the dealer. Worked for me last year and this year. By the way, Barretts at Canterbury quoted me £415 all in and that was with no haggling. I refuse to be fleeced, especially when I don't think the dealers have very much work on (except warranty work of course!).

Just got my FL2 TD4 and I know I should read the manual etc but can I get a quick answer on the following:

From brand new how long is the warrantie? i.e in years?

I guess you have to have the FL2 serviced at a proper dealer too to keep warrantie valid?

What is the approx cost of each service to keep the warrantie valid?

a) New Warranty is 3 years.
b) Use a dealer to service for the 3 year unless you can find an 'indy' who will use approved parts, but this might give you some hassle from the dealer if warranty work is needed when he spits his dummy out because you haven't showed up on his system.
c) Anything from £320 to £500, my localish one is £415.

Beadles at Sidcup price match RCV for me, they have a sign up in reception stating they will price match.
