rear wiper sweeps when reverse is selected

when reverse is selected the rear wiper sweeps, can this be disabled.sometimes my vehicle is parked up for a week at a time,if dirt settles on the rear screen or on the top of the wiper blade this causes the rear screen to scratch when the blade sweeps.ive found this out to my cost over the past 6 months of ownership.
another little niggle

Will only do it if the front wipers are on, so as a suggestion double check to make sure they are off Thumbs Up

Not really a niggle - I think it's pretty well standard on cars with rear wipers.
Of course it's the driver's duty to check that all windows are clear of muck etc before starting off... Whistle

If you've got your wipers on 'auto' at the front the rear will flick wipe when you hit reverse...to disable it turn off your auto wipers.

more desperately pull the fuse out of the box under the glove box, it only kills the rear wiper not the fronts, usefully when using a bike rack At work

Its pity it doesnt also make the rear lights and numberplate visible too, when using a bike rack. Rolling Eyes
