In the last week my gear knob has started squeaking when I change gear.

Now its obviously a dry joint but any ideas how i go about re-lubeing it??

Due to for a service in December so can I leave it until then?

Anyone else got same problem?

I had this and there are a number of threads on here about creaking gear levers - the fix is easy.
I followed their advice and apply silicone grease to the end of the gear selector cables on the top of the gearbox - not the ball joit but where the inner of the cable exits the outer casing.
Either silicone lubricant (used for assembling pushfit plumbing connections - I get mine from Wickes) or silicone grease that you can get from plumbers merchants (I used this as I reckon it'll help to to keep rain and muck from entering the gear selector cables).
Have a search on here for the threads as one of them had a picture of the area.
