Hi All
Anyone know where the fuel filter is located, before I go searching for it?

In front of the engine, below the engine cover and above and a little to the left of the oil filter.
Take off the engine cover and you'll see it on the route of the fuel lines.

Thanks for that, but, any ideas why the car won't start now.
Seems to me the low pressure fuel tank pump doesn't work now.
Looked at fuse and it is OK.
Press START button without clutch down and a buzz comes from the back as if it's priming.
Took output pipe off new filter and put a clear large bore pipe onto the filter output and into an oil container.
Trying to start the engine DOES NOT result in fuel being pumped out of the fuel filter.
Took the two pipes off from the pump side, held finger on one and blew down the clear plastic pipe and air came out the input to the filter so the filter isn't blocked.
Then put clear pipe on the input pipe that comes direct from the pump and nothing comes out when the engine is cranking.

Any ideas anyone??

Always fill new filter with fuel before fitting. I know its a little messy but MUST be done. All FL2's (3) Gone
2011 Mercedes C180 CGI Gone
FL2 GS Auto SD with heated leather, factory tints, alloy spare and a few other bits.

There is no low pressure fuel tank pump.
The system needs to be bleeded.
That fuel pump from the tank is just for equalizing the two sections of the tank and not for lifting fuel up to the engine.

Why don't you read the topic from Maintenance&Modification regarding the fuel filter???
It would have saved you a lot of problems/worries...

Thanks Alex, for some reason I didn't pick up on the thread which you gave me (you know sometimes when you look so hard you don't actually see it under your nose - I even used the search function but didn't notice that thread).

Anyway, holding my finger on the started button for 20 seconds numerous times didn't prime it as suggested.
So I filled the filter with fuel through the input port and after a few turns the engine fired up.
