Selling a car to a trader

I got a better offer on the wife's car from a trader

On thursday I am taking it to him to buy

He said he would normally provide a business cheque but I asked what bank he banks with which is the same as my wife's and asked if he could do a bank transfer, which he was happy to do

How watertight is this? Can he recall the money in anyway, when should we sign the car over to him?

Does he have any comeback or time to change his mind?

Any and all advice welcome, though I need the cash cleared for Friday Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

bank transfer can happen almost immediately if going to/from accounts in the same bank.

Once money hits your account it can't be recalled - the bank have to contact you to sort it out. 2002 Honda VFR800

Depends on how he instructs the payment ---

Each bank has unique processes especially with internet banking - but once the funds hit your account they should not be able to be recalled.

The best way to guarantee is to do the transaction in the bank where the Trf can be verified -

If the trader instructs a CHAP's payment - once processed - cannot be recalled - You need to check with your Bank that funds have ben received

If it is Bk to Bk transfer then that is same as cash - so cleared immediately. Disco 3 HSE
