They should come on when you unlock the car and the mirrors fold out.
Not sure why they are not coming on except to check the fuses/bulbs.

Mine come on each time I unlock the car with the fob.
When you open the car door are you getting your puddle lights come on from
under the door?

I'm pretty sure they light up regardless of day and night.
It's dark here in the land of Oz so I cannot test this at the moment.

I fitted these in mine (rated at 110 lumens);

You could try these which are brighter still (156 lumens);

From experience, 110 lumens is very bright for both mirrors and door bottoms, 156 may be football stadium standard. Poke it, Poke it, make it do it again!!

For the puddle lights in your 2010 door mirrors and lower door lighting you will need the canbus safe type if you intend to fit l.e.d's. Tried normal 'non canbus safe' type and they just give one quick blink of the l.e.d's then nothing, replaced with standard bulb and everything back to normal. Thumbs Up

Sparkybaz,
Just noticed mine are not working. Where was your loose wire ? I will start there as it may be a common fault.
