Parking Sensor Problem

Hi, I have recently joined the forum having bought a 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 automatic three months ago from an independent Land Rover specialist dealer. I had a 2006 FL1 HSE auto before that and was happy with it but when it came time to trade it in I was pleased that I could afford a FL2, albeit an early one, and what a difference!

The problem I would be grateful for some assistance with relates to the parking sensors. When reverse is selected a continuous beep occurs and only stops when the car is put into forward drive and reaches over 18 mph or the PDC button is switched off. It is an intermittent fault and usual occurs after the car has been in use, switched off, left a while then restarted. Unlike others I have read threads about on the forum it happens when it is dry and not after it has been raining.

I have taken it back to the dealer but no fault code registered and of course it never happens when it is at the dealers!

I was wondering if it was a software problem and whether there is a bulletin about a fix although having looked on topix I can not find one.

Any advice would be appreciated. Adrian

Do a forum search, there's loads on parking sensor faults, sorry but it's a common fault.
Welcome to the club though. Thumbs Up Don't put petrol in a diesel. They don't run well.

I'd do a software update. If that didn't work, might be the electrical block connectors by the bumper. Failing that you'll need to disconnect a sensor in turn and check until you get the duffer.

Thanks for the advice. I will ask the dealer to do a software update and see how it goes. Adrian

I too have the issue of having my PS acting up, but I'm glad I have them tough. would have great difficulty parking otherwise and especially getting out when boxed in.
