Just collected my car after them having a look at this, turbo solenoid or something is flagged up, but they have had a tech report saying there has been a issue causing this from wiring resistance due to water ingress and that needs a integrity check first and it maybe a CRB or something

In for a couple of days next week

I suppose with you driving another Auto, you now know what is normal and what is not. So the hesitation was absent from the loan car Question

No hesitation but it was also a SD4 which mine isn't

They seem to acknowledge there is a fault so fingers crossed they'll get it sorted

Brought my FL2 SX in Oct 2011, similar problems. Been back twice, even worse now with lower o/s air temps, so back in next Thursday. When I phoned the service dept the guy said "this is normal, they all have that sort of character"
My reply - the demonstrator didn't or I wouldn't have brought one ,etc, etc Mad

Just spoke to them after having the car for two days

Didn't report anything on the wiring, but had found sooty deposits near the turbo manifold, so want to fix this first, so are ordering the parts to fix this to rule it out, then it will be a see how things go

We have a similar problem with our 2008 GS with 40000 miles.

When accelerating in 4th gear and going through the 2000 to 2500 RPM band sometimes the rev counter will drop and you can sometimes feel a hesitation but then picks up again.

We have been to a dealer today and they say that it is the clutch slipping and even though it is a Land Rover approved used car the clutch is not covered so we have been quoted £730 if the clutch has gone if the problem is not a manufacturing defect.

If the clutch was slipping I thought it would happen high up the rev range and that the RPM would rise rather than fall.

Not sure what to do next.

Cheers

Plenty on this forum about slippig clutch/DMF. It slips the most at peak torque, ie between 2000 and 2500 rpm and the revs rise 200/300rpm without any increase in road speed.. Got mine replaced under warranty, it's a known problem . Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

It depends.......if they are able to remove the broken stud without damaging the thread there is no problem. If not I guess they will have to drill it out which may ruin the thread (especially if in aluminium) in which case they will probably have to Helicoil it. Again, no problem as some will say that a Helicoil thread in aluminium is stronger than a plain thread. The only real issue is if they screw the job up and increase the hole size beyond the right size Helicoil which may mean you wind up with a bastard size bolt in it. John

hi just reading ur issues with throttle hesitation Big Cry sounds very similar to my problem i had with my 2011my td4 was in and out of the dealer over 12 times in 8months bolt snapped in my manifold had to be extracted,in the end after help from another forum member who gave me the chassis number of his car the dealers can do a check to see what work was carried out and compair notes on both cars in the end a new turbo was fitted and the fault was gone,
mine had previously had an egr valve fitted earlier but did not solve the flatspot/hesitation Thumbs Up rainy-city

Nick, standard sized bolt is 8mm, as said a Helicoil is just as good but with any luck 'stud extractors' will get the old out without damage.
