2009 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Martinique Blue

Worried about loose wire underneath

I had a look underneath my wagon this morning and found a number of cables with bare ends. Then are in a small convoluted tube near to the o/side rear wheel. I'm sure they must have been connected to something. Everything seems to work OK. Confused.

Any ideas?

Best never to look "underneath" you always think blimey that doesnt look strong enough, and oh is that all that holds the wheel on, exhaust looks a bit rusty, what you dont know about you dont worry about

I've just had it fitted. The ends of these wires look like they've been in the open for some time.

I'll pop it into a dealer tomorrow for a quick look.

2008 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Izmir Blue

loose wires

There are wires for the rear parking sensors near the o/s/r wheel. I have read on here of sensor looms being changed, along with faulty sensors etc. I wonder if this is a bit of redundant wiring for the parking aids?

I presented the car back to the dealer yesterday. They said it wasn't anything important and taped it up out of the way 'because that's what it's like on the new ones'.

perhaps it's the new "OBD III" connection
