I believe this is now sorted, we were being targeted by heavy traffic from a single source which was reading the site's RSS feeds, knocking the whole site out for everyone else

Yes, it's been traced and solved this morning so you may well have got it yesterday.

Just had a service error message again. Came back on 5 mins later

Service Temporarily Unavailable

The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later.

Additionally, a 503 Service Temporarily Unavailable error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis
