Noticed an advert in the paper the other day for the Kwick Fit manufacturer spec servicing (Quotes - equivalent or better spec parts used). Anyone any experience with this and made a warranty claim after it.

NO WAY would I enter their depots.
Stories you hear about them really happen.
Managers are on a bonus system and must sell % ammounts of shock absorbers, brake discs, pads, wheel alignments etc to no of vehicles entering depot.

I had a technician/mot tester leave our garage to work for them as an MOT tester, better wages and bonus.
6 weeks later he was looking for his old job back. Manager would demand thing like "you need to fit 5 catalytic converters today" or x ammount of discs and pads. All FL2's (3) Gone
2011 Mercedes C180 CGI Gone
FL2 GS Auto SD with heated leather, factory tints, alloy spare and a few other bits.

Not strong enough, they weren't the same shape after he'd had a go at them.I've always been told never to put an air ratchet ont locking nuts for such a reason. Have to take a look at manual.

recently an elderly couple a few doors along from my mum were travelling down south to visit relatives.

Fred decided to have two new front tyres fitted at Kwik Fit in Dumbarton on the way down.

halfway down the M6 one of the front wheels fell off !! luckily enough they were in the inside lane and veered onto the hard shoulder to be recovered by the breakdown service.

the other wheel had nearly come off as well and there was a good bit of damage, but fortunately no one injured, just a bit shocked.

Kwik Fit just didn't tighten the wheel nuts properly !!

Iain

ps when Fred told me I said he should take Kwik Fit to the cleaners, but he had put his car in somewhere else to be repaired and was apparently just putting it down to experience !!
