The old GG AT2 are a cracking tyre, if they're still available. We Don't Care About Pot Holes !!

I have a sets fitted to our other two 2006 Freelanders.
I used to travel 20+K miles a year in one of the vehicles and can say the Michelin Cross wear very well with mixed
motorway and rural use.
During the last two winters we never had any problems or worries with the snow regularly crossing the Pennines between Manchester & Huddersfield and even on the 1 in 3 hill up to our home. ( Apart from the one morning when the snow was higher than the bonnet - stayed in bed that morning ).
A bonus is they are a quiet runner on normal roads.
Just check tyre size/rating available as last time I checked there were some restrictions.
Michelin Lattitude Cross tyres are well worth considering.

Further to my last post.

I have just checked on my paperwork on the mileage covered with the Michelin Lattitude Cross Tryes since they were fitted in October 2009 on my 2006 Freelander.

Fitted October 2009: Miles covered to date - 23,239: Tread left - 5mm all round.

Hope the information helps.

I had Michelin Latitudes on my 2007 FL2, there was still some tread left when I sold the car with 37000 miles on the clock. No complaints about them.
My current FL2 has Pirelli tyres which are also good but look quite well worn at 23000 miles.

I have been looking at what to replace my Wranglers with, and have finally settled on General Grabber UHPs (235/60-18s). After much searching around I have found somewhere local that will supply and fit them for £454 all in. Poke it, Poke it, make it do it again!!

I'm also considering changing to Michelins. I put a set on my other half's FL 1 just over a year ago. I would be very interested to know if anyone has noticed any increase in road noise compared to the standard Wranglers. I don't imagine they are noisy but I've been very pleased with the lack of road noise from my FL2 so far. I didn't notice any noise increase on the FL1 but I wouldn't expect to as there is so much wind noise it's a job to hear the radio!

I was put off General Grabbers a few years ago when I fitted a set to an old Range Rover. They didn't last two minutes compared to BF Goodriches. I appreciate the rubber compound may be harder on the new ones but I am yet to be convinced. 1982 RR Classic-converted to 200TDi-gone

I've done quite a bit of searching for information on which tyres to replace mine with. All the reports look pretty good for the Grabbers, maybe not quite as long lasting as the Wranglers (32k so far and 2mm left), but reports of 25k+ are common. I just didn't fancy splashing out £170 per tyre for Goodyears (Grabber UHPs are costing me £115). I'll report back after a few months on grip, noise etc. Thumbs Up Poke it, Poke it, make it do it again!!

Just had 4 new grabber A/T's fitted.
Slightly more road noise than conti's but far less than I expected.

Lol, I expected more noise, and it's not somthing that would have bothered me anyway. Just need to get them tested in mud and snow now! Might take a while for the snow tho!
Very pleased with them so far.
