Towbar electrics removal...need to reset computer?

After three happy years of Freelander 2 ownership I am looking to change and thinking about removing the towbar to recycle it onto my next one.
I know when I installed the towbar I had to get the Dealer to code the car to accept the wiring loom for the trailer lights.
Question - If I REMOVE a towbar do I also need to de-code the car or is it OK to just remove the bar and electrics loom? Has any body got first hand experience of this, please?
Many thanks

If I were trading it in I wouldn't worry to much, just remove the bar a day or so before it goes. It was touched on a while back though.

You don't need to 'decode' the car. You only have to activate to tell the car the electrics are present. No need to worry when removing. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........
