Lost right hand indicators. Quick flashing on dash.

Hi,

Lost all right hand indicators today.

Symbol flashes quickly on the dash, as if a bulb has gone.

Wont work on Hazards either.

Anyone know if these are run from a relay?

LR Assitance sent out the AA, couldnt sort it.

Off to Dealer tommorow, just wondering if anyone has any ideas, or experience of this.

Mant thanks

Yes, there is a flasher unit, but unlike the old bi-metallic, it's done with electronic timer. Very unusual for them to go wrong.
It could be, and i'm guessing here, a poor connection within the buld (sorry bulb, couldn't resist it) holder. Sometimes you can get poor contact between the bulb and bulbholder due to indifferent metals. I've seen it before many times. Try cleaning the bottom of the bulbs and the contacts. Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

Ha, you like the buld! School boy error!

I have just been out checking connections etc, and everytime i turn the ingition on, it will work for 2 flashes, all indicators on the right, then the quick flash comes and the indicators go out.

Ignition off, back on and it will do the same.

Hopefully, covered by the warranty, dont see why not. Can i get them to look at it asap due to the fact its not safe to drive?

Seems to be a run on electrical problems at the moment, Tailight on another thread now indicators, yet we haven't seen problems like this for a while.

Yes, you're quite right on both counts in that it's dangerous and covered under warrenty.
Give your dealer a ring first, give 'em chance to book you in and insist on a courtesy car should they not be able to fix quickly.
Checking the contact point invloves taking all the bulds (sorry for that), i mean bulbs one by one.
Good luck Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

Helpfull dealer?

Not Really! Took it up, plugged it in, theres an earth fault somewhere.

Said they would need a few days to sort it. Didnt have a car for me due to someone who took in a 7 seater disco demanded they provide two cars to make up for his 7 seats!

Back home, called LR Assistance, cant have a 4x4 hire car, which is silly in my eyes. Need it for work, hence why i bought the thing in the 1st place!

Only allowed to have the hire car for 2 days. Car wont even be looked at till monday!

Jesus!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is it worth ringing another dealer? Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.
