Wales 2009 Freelander 2 TD4_e S Manual Lago Grey

There is even wear all around, just off the tyre indicators on the back and just on them at the front. On my last car ( a french people carrier) never had to change tyres after doing 30k miles Confused Lago Grey 2.2 s td4..e

Are you saying the tyres are worn out after only 7000 miles? Or that they've done 30000 and you're surprised they are worn? 30000 is reasonable for FL2 tyres. Your people carrier probably did not have M+S tyres - normal road tyres would last longer. Question

Is it just the edges on the conti's? They wear very fast, but can still be legal with the other 75% been legal with enough tread Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

In that case I'm stumped. I've never heard of tyres wearing out like that unless something was very wrong. Only things I can think of, and it's a long shot:

Have you driven it constantly in one of the off-road modes, so scrubbing the tyres (not sure the FL2 would do that. A Defender might).
Has it been anywhere (eg dodgy garage, airport off-site parking) where someone might have swapped the wheels/tyres for a set of worn out ones? It's been known to happen.

Not too likely I admit. Confused

Maybe a picture of the wear might help, so we can compare Idea Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Been to a local tyre dealer today, he said 9000 - 10,000 max from contis on a freelander, just ordered some goodyears with him, see how they go.

Also speaking to a mate who had an Audi Quattro, he only got 9000 miles out of tyres on his car, must be the Welsh hills!!

Thanks for your help everyone. Lago Grey 2.2 s td4..e

Dave why? I had Scorpions on my RRS TDv8 and they had 28000 miles on them when I had to replace all 4. Some of those miles were offroad in the mud, some on a track day skid pan outing and most on the motorway. They had 4mm left when I shredded the front nearside and slashed the rear n.s. on a pothole hit at 60 on the road between Callander and Port of Mentieth which you might know from your trips to Nick Nairn's place. The real heartache was it was the week before I collected the FFRR that I had to put 4 new tyres on the car Big Cry Big Cry How can carbon have a footprint, it has no feet?

It's a personal thing, I just don't like the look of them, had wranglers on my FL2, Mrs Dave has them on hers and they're on the D3, never had any problems with them and they've all worn well.

Yes, know that road well. Must get the D4 on it and see how it handles along there Laughing ______________________

I couldn't understand why nobody seemed to talk about Bridgestone's in this forum. They are incredibly popular down under and given how big the company is, I assumed they were available in the UK. A quick web check revealed Bridgestone dealers, but with a very limited range. I can't imagine why they couldn't be sourced if there were sufficient demand. Perhaps an opportunity for AJ's??
The following link takes you to the size options for the most popular A/T tyre they sell down here - note that there is no option for 18" and 19" in a high-wall, all-terrain tyre such as this one. I have been extremely happy with them on previous 4WD's, though my time in snow conditions is limited to about 1 week a year when I go camping up near the snow fields. Mileage is good and handling both on and off road is pure.
