Test Drive this PM - What to look for?! | |
I've already spent an afternoon in an auto SD4, but upon reflection it's too high a cost to change to justify.
So this afternoon I'm trying a 2008 HSE manual. I'm not mechanical so would basically be relying on common sense and the used approved warranty (it's at a main dealer), but is there anything I should know in terms of what to expect "from cold" please?
Simple things like will the gearbox be hard work until it's warmed up, should it be noisy, so on so forth.
Thanks.

You can do it stationary too.
Second gear, left foot on clutch, right foot heel on the brake and the right foot toes on the accelerator.
Give it aproximatively 2000 RPM, keep it there and slowly release the clutch while right foot heel firmly keeps on brake. If you stall the engine while trying to keep the 2000 RPM then the clutch is OK.
Takes a little exercise to do it quickly otherwise you'll stress the clutch too much.
