Purchased an 08 Freelander XS from Ottons in November and I am very pleased with the vehicle but am less impressed with the after sales.

During the negotiations I raised the issue of a free LR Experience day and was told 'this should not be a problem' - a comment that was witnessed by my wife. Despite 3 e-mails chasing this up I have received no reply let alone any sign of the free day.

I know I should have obtained the promise in writing but I naively believed that the sales persons comment would be sufficient - I will know better in the future.

I am so impressed with vehicle itself that I am actively considering the possibility of purchasing a new/newer HSE. I don't think it will be via Ottons.

Not had any problems with them personally. Always very helpful. I suppose it's down to the particular salesman you are talking to. Never dealt with them via e-mail though, as I live quite close so generally pop in when I'm passing. Suppose it helps if they know your face. We Don't Care About Pot Holes !!

I agree with the above, just go in and demand your ticket, my dealer had a pad full of them in a drawer.

Went to Ottons (now Westover) for some work to be carried out. Not my usual dealer but as I was in the area for a while decided to try them.

Not too great. A few minor issues that on their own wouldnt have been anything major. But as they were all on-top of one another were annoying. Biggest is the fact that the courtesy car I got wasnt clean. Not sounding a snob (I understand that they are busy with the cars and at least I was able to get one) but finding nail clippings in the centre console is unacceptable I feel. Final point is that the customer service wasn't that good. I had 1 phone call to let me know what work was required. No further calls and when I rang they were always 'just about to call me' etc.

However, when these points were raised to the manager, they did apologize and offered me a discount if I had my next servicing there (which I got in writing). So have to wait and see...........
