opening of rear passenger doors with engine running

OK the doors lock when I drive off, but why when I pull in to drop off rear passengers they can't get out without me pressing the unlock button on the dashboard or turning off the engine.
My dealer says all FL2 do this.
Why have this feature on a car that has child locks?
Can it be turned off?

I found you have to unlock the door first, then pull the handle. Unlike the front doors where just pulling the handle unlocks it.

Same on the disco... the clever ones will work out that an unlock then pull handle works.

Stops the scrotts getting in from outside though when in town Thumbs Up

And you should be able to turn off the drive away locking via the settings menu or failing this, your dealer can.
