Bad sunroof replaced with updated part, could be a recall

Well I got my sunroof replaced after 3 weeks of waiting. They got a new part the whole glass roof of the LR2 and they did not have to pull one from other LR2. They told me me it took over four hours to remove the glass roof and five hours to put it back in and the part is several thousand dollars. They also told me this is a updated part. Top is almost silent when opening and closing now. And I tested other new LR2 on the lot and it sounded like my old glass top so I am sure that it must be a updated design. Could be a recall on the old part. Wow I hope this part is good thank goodness for warranty.

Hi Muellerfilm,
What was the reason for asking for a replacement in the first place? Something that the rest of us should check?
