No i have not checked the fuse, i did think of that but don't fuse's have other things on them like : heated washer jets + heated window screen. Normally if a fuse goes a few things stop working, or is it just to cold even for the heated washer jets.

Toped it up a few days ago with pure screen wash, put about 2lts in. Just been out a poured warm water on the washer jets and defrosted them and now they are working. Tryed it before hand with the heated washer jets and nothing came out Big Cry

What is the best brand of Washer fluid that is available in the Uk?
did not know these vehicles had heated Jets, mine freezes up every time there is a hard frost but I dont know what the fluid to water ratio currently is, or if the fluid is winter graded. Offset your Carbon emissions by boycotting Baked Beans and all Green Vegitables.

I bought this stuff from a local place expecting it to be cheap cheerful stuff, it turns out to be great stuff no freeze problems this year, and being a tight farmer I do water it down plenty.

cant remember the brand but i think it says its good down to -25 when used pure, When i got them working again the liquid coming out was blue, so there must be a good mix of screen wash in the tank. i will look at the fuse tomorrow. Will it tell me in the Manuel which one it is ?

Heated Washer Jets
Engine compartment fuse box: location F37, 10amp, Red.

When I was in UK late last November I refueled at a Shell station and there their best screen washer was rated at only minus 5°C. That's next to hopeless. here in CH our winter screen wash is rated at minus 25°C. Last winter at temps down to minus 27°C we never had a blocked washer jet.

Buy the best rated fluid you can and do not dilute - penny pinching will only lead to frozen fingers when trying to unblock your jets when stuck on the road at night in freezing temperatures.

Likewise here, the normal screen wash is rated at -25C, but my LR service station boosted this to -40C during last month's oil service with undiluted LR sreen wash. Thumbs Up

Never had a problem with frozen washers, even on vehicles without heated washer jets. 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.
