Door Mirror Top Cover Removal

Does anyone know how to remove the door mirror top cover.
Last night while I was parked, some kind person (putting this as polite as I can) tried to see if the near side mirror would move out while the car was parked and mirrors in the folded position. Since then it’s been a little intermittent and when it does work, moves much slower than the drivers side. Just need to remove the cover to look at the mechanism.
Thanks,
Chris

When the mirrors are out in the normal driving position it is possible to disconnect them from the motor drive (Possibly for pedestrian protection but that's a wild guess and no doubt I'll get shot down in flames for saying it).
My suggestion - Unlock the car, therefore both mirrors are out. Get hold of the nearside whole assembly and try to move it back and forth, it should if my thoery is correct click back into the motor drive socket. It's quite a positive click apparently and a tad disconcerting when you first do it but they say you can do no damage.

Some kind chap/chappess gave us this info for fixing the juddering mirror problem - good luck Thumbs Up

it is normally possible to open the mirrors out by pulling, they click back in, maybe yours were frozen inside?? At work
