a good tip when having Balance Weights fitted inside cover with gaffer tape helps to keep them on and water tight

Part of the reason for having them fitted inside the rim is so that they don't spoil the look of the wheel. Gaffer tape will look Censored! If they stick on in the first place, they stay stuck. Anyway, centrifugal force keeps them well stuck down - have you ever tried removing them? They stick like Censored to a baby's blanket!

The lower end of 'stick on' weights can be 5 grammes, shame to spoil that accuracy with a strip of 'gaffer tape' that can also weigh the same.

never need to have a stuck on wheel weight replaced, if they are done correctly, by cleaning the inside of the wheel and then letting it dry before been stuck on

covering them up with gaffer tape is the strangest thing i have read this year Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter Shocked Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

I contributed to this thread way back and now with the tyres coming towards the end of their life (4mm@24K miles) the inner weights are still in place. I would never consider external weights again but then I dont do some of the off road work that some of you seem to do! Ralph
