Windscreen wipers

In this cold weather, mine don't clear some of the spray off the windscreen , leaving a patch that then freezes. Probably need new blades as the vehicle is 3 years old in April and has not had them replaced. What's the answer ? Land Rover replacements (what do they cost ?) or are there any others recommended .

after three years I would agree that they would need replaced, personally I would go for Landrover replacements as you cannot really complain after three years.

You might need new blades but mine are only a few weeks old and they do it too. Given their construction I reckon the blades themselves stiffen in this weather. Rub down the blade with gloves or whatever sorts mine.

As the local dealer to me is now closed for service and parts on a Saturday I bought a set from a well known chain of auto bits and bobs, after two weeks binned them, I have never had wipers that screetch on a wet screen, on a dry screen they were silent but when it rained they just screetched and juddered across the screen both ways Evil or Very Mad Went to the dealer when they were open and purchased a genuine set.

Mine are 3-years old as well, and if treated with care should last that long. However I just bought some LR replacements at my dealers at a staggering £70 for the pair. I know that our prices are more expensive but 70 quid was a blow to the wallet Evil or Very Mad

Would be interesting to hear what the UK LR prices are Question

In freezing weather when the wipers may be frozen to the screen, turn on the defrost system and wait for the screen to heat up and the let blade loosen from the screen by warmth. Do not loosen them from a frozen screen by any other method otherwise they will be Censored 'd and leave uncleared patches which, as mentioned, freeze.

The normal prevention method here is to fold the wipers out away from the windscreen when parking for a longer period in freezing weather, then in that way they cannot freeze to the windscreen Thumbs Up . 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.

CG, I don't think its just Freelander's that don't agree with RainX, it's any vehicle with a flat blade wiper.

Could you please explain to an ignorant what's the connection between RainX, windscreen and flat blade wiper?
I know what RainX is, but why doesn't work?

Try to heat up the screen a bit, that helps them to perform better in any condition. 2010 Freelander 2 Select TD4 auto....gone
