Trim At Gear Leaver

Does any one else get blinded by the sun reflecting from the silver trim round the gear leaver / selector leaver?

As strange as it may sound, YES, I've noticed this on a number of occassions. I've actually used a duster to cover the trim/TR control knob several times!!! And that's living near Manchester ..... honestly guv !!!

I haven't seen the sun since the end of may,
but the reflection from streetlights can be really distracting.
however a carefully placed cloth kills the reflection.
fingers crossed I'll get a chance to see if this works for the sun too !

I too have found it a pain in the eyeball.
I've just made a note that the if I ever get into an accident , I'll take a page out of our American friends book and sue the B*******s

You wonder who did all the test driving for them?

Perhaps the newly supplied models will get a nice little logo'd yellow duster.

There was so much publicity about the 'rigorous' testing program this car had been subjected to it makes you wonder how any of the problems we've encountered weren't picked up. With a fleet of test cars how on earth did thye not pick up the starting issues and the seatbelt wear on the B post trim ... And as for the heatshields on the propshaft, well I guess when they tested cars in the dessert the heatshields weren't even fitted !!!

Hi, I am in Ayrshire. Yes the sun did break through the cloud last Saturday for a few hours.

Does any one from Land Rover read these posts?

I was just looking back at the old photos, and noticed in the spy shots that the interior of the car being used for testing has a black suround for the gear stick, rather than silver, that might explain why they didn't spot this slight oversight

Yes, I also noticed glare from trim around gearshift, on the one day the sun came out!!! Rolling Eyes It could be quite a distraction in some conditions Life is not a dress rehearsal!

No problems here, in New York, but will check again ...

I got it -had my front sunroof tinted, thus no glare.
