Does your column look like this!?

Happen to notice today the carpet around my steering column looks a bit haphazard - Just wondered if this is the best that the Silihillan carpet fitters can do or is this another thing to add to the list for when it goes back to the stealer Question Freelander 2 TD4 Auto, SE, Narvik Black, Alpaca full leather, Rear Headrest Entertainment System, 6 CD, 18 HSE Wheels, Privicy tints

this is just a guess but it looks to me like the carpets been taken up for some reason and not put back right. As to why this has been done your guess is as good as mine, take it back to the dealer and get them to sort it. As for your wheel wobble DONT trust kwik fit most of them dont know there arse from there elbo. Are all the tyres new ? have they been swapped around from side to side back to front. Tyres dont like being swapped around as they get into a wear pattern so to speak and putting a OSR onto the NSF could cause problems. Take it to a proper tyre place not Kwik fit etc and get the wheels ballanced again front and back i bet this will sort it cause it sure sounds to me like they are not ballanced right Thumbs Up

Thanks for that - I know what you mean about kwikfit, I have a story to tell about them actually but I think I will excuse the embarrassment...

The reason I dont think it is wheel balance is because it did exactly what it does now with the original wheels and its not consistent which you would normally see with wheel balance issues... TBH this and the carpet and the dodgy SRS light all lead me to something suspect that I dont know about - and at this point in time I am seriously considering rejecting it under the 30day promise Freelander 2 TD4 Auto, SE, Narvik Black, Alpaca full leather, Rear Headrest Entertainment System, 6 CD, 18 HSE Wheels, Privicy tints

That carpet fitting has me baffled as the one in our driver's foot well is trimmed neatly around the steering column. Visit the dealer, and, before addressing the problem with them take a look at other FL2's on the forecourt so that you can refer to their fit when the dealer starts saying: "there're all like that Sir".

Also I'm as equally baffled by whom you believe was responsible fort his handy work - "Silihillan"?
a) do you really think it was done so long ago (439-409m yrs) in the palaeozoic FL2 production period Silurian, or
b) by those ham fisted Silisili mountainous folks (well known for their car carpet manufacturing) - therefore contact the Samoan Government for compensation, or
c) or probably by them none english speaking rebels (they couldn't understand the trimming guide) the Silures, if so write a stiff rebuke to the Welsh Secretary for Education.
However, if was done by none of these I'd certainly welcome your elucidation re "Silihillan" - some SciFi characters perhapes?
Wink

Silhillian - colloquial term used to describe inhabitants of a place known as Solihull – or home of the Land Rover. Thumbs Up

Rolling Eyes
There was an American called Benjamin Silliman - he wasn't a muppet or caravanner. Invented AI2SiO5 - Aluminium Silicate.
