Interior & Puddle Lights

Hi,

Picked up my nice new FL2 (XS) last Monday - and haven't stopped smiling ! Very Happy

2 questions:

My interior front light has the map reading lights, but the rear only has the one bulb - is this normal ?

Also, my wing mirrors have the puddle lights in them - I thought they only came on the HSE ?

Thank you !

Hello! Glad your enjoying the car!!

Map lights - yes thats normal but you could put map lights in the rear as the whole unit only costs £12 from the dealers.

Wing Mirror puddle lights - these are standard on the XS and HSE.

Hope this helps.

Steve.

Those lights under the mirror are useful when your wife falls over (after drinking too much). whilst walking to the car in the dark in a field. Side tubes are a further drunken wife safety feature as they stop her rolling under the car.

Just tried to replace the door mirror puddle lights (with led's) - think I'm going to break the lens covering the bulb !! Anyone know how to safely remove these little Censored ??!!

Another point - my XS 10MY has not got the rear audio controls - is this normal ?

Thanks again !

Prize down by inserting a thin screwdriver between the puddle light housing and the mirror body - from the side nearest you (Not the window side). CG has a picture in his gallery somewhere. Thumbs Up

careful which leds you choose the light must aim downwards not out of the end of the bulb.

Oh and rear controls no longer fitted to any fl2's

Thanks for the info !! I tried prizing with a small screwdriver - but from the edge nearest the door - I heard the lense crack !! Why isn't this in the handbook !?!

And do you know when they stopped fitting the rear audio controls ?

Thanks again ! Bow down

Just managed to get the wing mirror bulbs changed - you have to stick the screwdriver right in there to release the catch and be forceful (scary !). Downside is my led's don't work in there (just give a brief flash !), but they work everywhere else !!

Some LED bulbs will only work one way round, try inserting them both ways Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Unfortunately the audio controls were deleted in all 2010 models due to problems with them.

Let us know how you get on the led changes and take pics!! Smile

I don't think they had problems with the audio control, just found that hardly anybody actually used them Confused Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis
