It's irritating as the vehicle is still under warranty. If the pin holding the arm-rest isn't strong enough to bear weight, then is that due to unreasonable use or simply poor design? |

the armrest is for just that, for resting an arm on, nothing more, so unless you have very very heavy arm it is damage, which isn't covered under warranty and shouldn't be |

My thought is that it will be a new seat back, with the arm rest attached

You can't use that logic to decide whether something is under warranty. What about complaints of the wrinkly seat bolsters? or the B pillar trim? Rusty wheel locks etc. They are all designed for a specific purpose, and if not fit for purpose shouldn't they be warranty items? Phil |

This lady did not rest her a*** on it, be assured. She simply tried lowering it using the screw adjustment thingy, and then it wouldn't hold position. I would add that the car is in for three repairs just now - the same three it was in for last September!! I think perhaps the pin could have been bent by their workshop. |
