Hi

Just seen Freel2 Stickers for sale and noticed that external stickers are recommended when privacy glass is fitted. Have a 2 year old HSE and not sure if privacy film factory fitted or not.

Anyway I am now concerned. My garage, as they all seem to do, stuck his rectangular logo (free advert) sticker on the inside of the back window. I was thinking of removing it but now I'm thinking this might damage the privacy tinting?

Anyone have similar problems?

if is factory fitted glass, its the glass itself thats tinted and you wont damage it

You should be able to tell if its factory or film,

By looking at your rear window as the heating element will be visable and orange'ish colour with tiny airbubbles surrounding it were the film hasn't caught the window

Also on your side rear windows, when wound down so you can see if there is a fraction of a MM gap were the film ends as they dont go right to the top of the window with privacy film

if its film and your wanting a sticker removed i don't know of a safe way to do so

Likewise i hate free advert stickers on windows, but don't mind them on them havibng their name on the reg plate Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

If it is fill, then put the onus on the garage to remove it. If they damage it then they should have to re-tint the window. It might make them think twice before doing it in the future. If they won't play ball than phone LR customer services, they are usually very good in helping  Freelander 2.2e HSE , Privacy, Fully debadged, 19" Chrome SHadow alloys

It looks like factory tint and not Retro so I will give it a go myself. Would I be silly in considering using a hair dryer to warm the sticker first? Its about 6cm x 16cm.

Hairdryer is a good plan, particularly as it's so chuffing chilly at the minute!

Agree with Martin. It certainly won't hurt to warm it up. Nail varnish remover, (acetone), should get off any residue if any remains.. We Don't Care About Pot Holes !!
