There's lots of good info here so spend a couple of hours browsing. Best advice is to take a test drive and see what you think. There will be some folks who have done the downsizing too who can provide advice. Phil |

As Npinks will know I've got a 07 TDV8 with all the toys. Warranty expiring soon which I can extend for another 3 years.

Hi Josh... I had a RRS TDV6 HSE and went to a FL2 SE and I have to admit that I preferred the FL2. For me it was a better drive, more responsive, more or less as luxurious and much cheaper to run!! I had a manual FL2. Tyres lasted longer too! If you have any questions Ill fo my best to answer! |

If u are worried about tyre wear forget the Audi Q5. If I had all the money I spent on Beer!, I'd spend it on Beer!. |

Isn't the Q5 loads more expensive than the FL2? is the Audi Quadras a 4x4? |

Q5 Quattro is full time 4x4....60/40 split I think. But got no where near the off road clearance of the FL2 which means its an on road 4x4. Unlike the soft roader VW Tiguan which is mainly 2 wheel drive and just looks the part.

That in itself is a reason to consider the FL2. Mine has now done nearly 33k miles on its original Michelin Latitudes (except for one that got damaged when only a few weeks old |

The Audi will be infinitely more reliable IMHO. It will outhandle the freelander on the road - the Quattro is actually very good..... but not for offroad.
