sticky label residue

I have fitted some brand new HSE wheels and they were plastic wrapped etc, after fitting, the final job was to peel off a sticky label on the face of the alloy and............ you guessed it, there is the sticky residue left and I can't get it off.
I have tried 'wonder wheels' and white spirit and no joy. Does anyone have any suggestions to get rid of this mess? 2010 FL2 XS Auto in Santorini Black with HSE alloys

I find Ronson lighter fluid is good for sticky label glue removal. (Other products are available).

using a very finest steel wool helps when dipped in the metal polish too

excellent on stainless steel exhaust tips too, on the visible internal part when i had a car with one on, it was anyway...... don't like the FL2 one looks a little out of place from the side Thumbs Up Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis
