2007 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Baltic Blue

Correct tyre sizes for 19' alloys

Hi All

My 2007 HSE came with 19' alloys however the tyre sizes on the front and back are different.
Could someone please tell me what tyre sizes should be used as I will need to change them in the next month or so?

Tyres

Try www.camskill.co.uk they do Vredestein 235 55 R19 v rated for £129 each If I had all the money I spent on Beer!, I'd spend it on Beer!.

Strange thing my HSE currently has 255 55 R19 tyres on the front and 235 55 R19 on the back!
Do you think the large tyres at the front might cause a problem?
What's the best all round tyre?

Actually they are quite a known brand in mainland europe. 2010 Freelander 2 Select TD4 auto....gone

Mine has 235 55 R19 on them from the factory as original tyres. This is the "legal" size for the car as well. I think the 255 55 R19 was the correct size for disco's.

As they are a bit bigger, your speedo won't read as correct as the original size, beside that I don't think that's a huge problem.

For this car I don't recommend the Continental Contact UHP's I got on. They perform rubbish when wet. I read a lot about people being happy with Wranglers though. 2010 Freelander 2 Select TD4 auto....gone

Yes, it will eventially wind the transfer box up, your running with the rear wheels turning alot slower than the rears. It will cause damage.

Hmm,

I thought that as we are not using 100% difflocks, winding up the gearbox should not be a concern.
