Removing tint film

i'm looking at a freelander for sale and its got aftermarket window tint film on which I'm not too keen on. Has anyone removed it or know how easy to remove it is? does it leave any sticky residue etc?

Thanks lypsyl i'll bear it in mind.
Still not completely sold on black to be honest, i like silver or green but can't find any in my budget for sale.
I may be turned to the "dark" side yet!

my budget is as close to 14k as possible so it doesn't sound like I can afford your colleagues one!
