Hi,

The indepent dealer I bought my freelander from last week provided me with a spare key to the car today that he had ordered from Landrover which I had asked him to do as part of the deal. When he gave it to me he advised that I would need to take it to a LR dealer in order for them to programme it, will the dealer charge me for this? and if so how much?

Also, as the car never came with a manual where is the key slot to turn the ignition on if the 'start / stop' button doesnt work?

there isn't a ignition slot, the start stop button is it, if it doesn't start you need to call assistance

the dealer will charge for the programming of the key, also make sure they un-program the car for the missing key, you probabley need to take proof of ownership, and photo ID with you

Blimey!! the dealer told me the key cost him approx £160, so now I've got to pay another possible £60.00 to get it programmed!! ....think im in the wrong job!!
