This is a common problem & there are so many posts on this subject that a simple search would have pulled up for you.

See the link below for example.

Have you checked to make sure that this isn't a communication problem in the central locking system? Can you unlock the door by using the "unlock" button on the dash? Have you checked to see if any other doors affected?

EDIT: Oh, and it would be helpful if you would add your vehicle details, either to your profile or the post, so that users with the same model can weigh in. 2005 D3 2.7 Auto

Hi.
I've had this problem - it one the small actuators in the door lock assembly - the only why to fix this problem is to change the lock assembly.
Regards.
Gordon.

Hi,
bit more details worth knowing first Question

is this when you are Unlocking the car or when it is already unlocked, if it is the lock actuator when you use the remote it does not move the handle inside or only moves it a small amount and not enough to unlock the door,
if you have opened it from the inside already can you then use the outside handle then Question

this should help to know if its the outside handle disconnected some how or if its the lock actuator as GWF has said

if it is the actuator it depends how you want to do the job, 25p for just the motor, £25 for a s/h actuator or £200 for a l/R part then any labour to fit it?

Many threads showing how to do the actuator have a go with the "Search button"

Thumbs Up .
my first ever FL2 and I did keep it longer than most other cars!
But its now gone way up Norf
