Some time ago I've purchased an after-market sat nav.

I've find out that Sygic navigation software can be installed on it and I am pretty satisfied by what it can do on road.
But as I didn't find any good off-road navigation softwares that can run on its processor (a MIPS core - rare, but powerfull) and fully satisfies my needs, I've decided to make one myself.
So here what came out on my spare time. The program was designed using Embedded Visual C++ 4 and MIPS SDK.
The images are printscreens of the program's output, on the development platform's debugger, when it is in the diagnose mode, being feed up by a previously recorded NMEA0183 stream of data (found out on Internet), just like the hardware GPS is supplying in reality.
The program is tested in real world also and it works perfectly.
I've made it to export tracks and info in GPX format too, so you can view your trips on Google maps also.
So now my FL2 has both on-road and off-road GPS applications.

Latest version: 1.15 (April 29, 2011)

A complete package here, which contains:
- a shell with a clock and a selection for on-road or off-road navigation
- the off-road application
- the on-road application (only with english voices, no maps and unregistered - for registering the net being full of informations, if you know what I mean )

Wow Alex, looks great. Very good job. I like this too. In June or July 2010 I like to come to Constanza and it would be great when we meet us. My parents-in-law have a pensione in Eforie Nord. Last year i was there with my brother-in-law for an Offroad-Trip to Danube Delta and wild beaches on Black Sea (unfortunately without Offroad-Navigation).

Is there any chance of a version 2 of the program?? South Australia’s time zone is +9:30 GMT and your program has hourly increments. Is this easy for you to change?? I like the clock on the display as I can't read the clock on the stereo when wearing my polarized sunglasses.
I really like your colour selection, if only the buttons on the GPS had green back light in lieu of the blue.

Alex, I have four questions as well:

1. Do you save the values to a settings.ini file when a user changes parameters in the settings?

2. Is it possible to somehow overlay the navigation map/route with a country map? (like OziExplorer)?

3. The max baud rate of our units is 9600 or 56000?

4. Not really a question, but more like suggestion from you - if I save my settings (I am GMT +3) and double-click on the top RH corner, the application exits and I get an error message that COM1 port is already in use, and the application relaunches by itself - the same thing happens with Sygic which I get an SD Card Access Denied - the program relaunches by itself. Do you reckon both your application and Sygic are affected by wrong wiring (something with the handbrake cable I presume?) done by the LR Dealership?
