remote heating is from a small fuel burning heater, not from starting the engine, it warms the cabin and possible the engines coolant too for better starting.

I am curious whether the new stop/start motors won't let it idle for long periods - does it cut-out when it has warmed up? Or does it need a bum on the seat / person operating the pedals etc. After all, it does not (yet!) know if you are standing outside scraping the windows whilst argueing with the coppers or sitting at home having a cuppa. Anyone with one tried it? |

it wont stop/start until the engine is warm, so in theory you could start the engine go in for a cuppa and the car will then stop once warm...not likely though |

You could also have the remote auxillery heater on a Freelander 1 TD4 from late 2000 but for some reason Landrover didn't fit it to the Freelander 2 - well actually they did if you live in Russia |

You can have a similar product at work, made by Eberspacher http://www.eberspacher.com/products/ works well for us saves hours in downtime. It will run all night and use about a litre of diesel. cost about £850 fitted unless you go for the super duper clock timer programmer. You can also have it plumbed into the engine water system also. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior |
