Tailgate

Is the tailgate supposed to open fully with the remote tailgate unlock button? Mine just unlatches...

I always thought 'boot' was more for saloon cars. Is it more of a 'hatch' on an FL2?

I'd agree it's not a boot, but then add nor is it a hatch (Mondeo type).... I 'think' I'm with tailgate Confused

It's true that 'tailgate' is an americanism. I would have said 'back door' but that has different connotations Shocked Not sure I want a button on my remote for that Whistle
I think in hindsight I should have titled the thread 'Hatch'. Anyway, at least my 'back door' is working normally Shocked

I have allways refered to it as tailgate & wasn't aware that was an Americanism as the word "tailgateing" is used by the Police for being too close to the car in front.
On normal car I think both hatchback & tailgate are used in conjunction as boot is for a saloon car. (trunk on a sedan if in the USA). (Past) Freelander 2 HSE 2010 MY In Rimini Red.

I am with Cerdo I have always called it a boot on all my cars, including hatchbacks & previous Freelander 1

as in "bob the shopping in the boot love" as we say in Yorkshire,

"bob the shopping in the tailgate love" is so wrong What if there were no hypothetical situations?
